Dearest friends,
I would like to thank
all of you for your interest in my really simple cooking
experience.
As you know, I am not
a professional Chef and because of it, with me, you won't receive
any award ... vice-versa, you will enjoy a great, genuine
Sicilian cultural cooking experience, in a really friendly
atmosphere, in my home with my family, cooking with me
to organize our delicious lunch, tasting original homemade
dishes ... but most of all, respecting the same
recipes taught to me by my lovely grandma:
Nonna Concetta (nick
name: Concettina).
Definitely ... it will
be an half day at your Sicilian Friend Donna Franca's
House!
How do I usually organize
this day?
Cost per person: based on a minimum 2 people Eur 190,00; 3/4 people Eur 170,00. Round trip transportation, city taxes, lunch
and beverages included
At h 9:00AM I will
provide a driver to pick you up in Palermo (you have to inform
me in advance where you will be staying in Palermo). My house
is located in Palermo, just few minutes away from the Norman Palace and
the Palatine Chapel (historical city centre). If you are staying
in the center of Palermo, the driving duration will be approx 5/10
minutes (crazy traffic permitting). On arrival I will introduce
myself and my house (there are several steps in my home, so I strictly
discourage people with mobility restrictions), than we will go
into my kitchen. We will wash our hands .... put on our aprons and I
being introducing the recipe of the day (usually is PASTA .... my favorite
is Ravioli with Ricotta and
fresh tomato sauce or Lasagna with ragů-sauce and béchamel or
Tagliatelle with mushroom sauce). Around
11:30AM/12:00 we will be able to admire our creation. Just the
time to clean my pasta machine, the rolling pins and our dirty
hands ... we will set the table (considering one more seat for my
husband .... LOL, he will be the judge of our creation), adding
also all of my country appetizers (such as olives, cheese, sun dried
tomatoes with my country olive oil, grilled eggplant with
garlic/vinegar/mint), Sicilian wine, Sicilian bread. As we sit
down
... the water in the pot will start to
boil ready to receive our creation .... ten minutes later we can
drain our pasta ... and we will be ready to taste our creation.
Buon Appetito ..... at the end I will serve the Dessert, the
Lemoncello and the Espresso. At h 2:00PM the driver will pick you
up to the hotel.

you want a real Sicilian Cultural experience, you only have to
write me and verify
availability. I will be really happy to have you as my personal
guest.
